Custom wheels aren't able to handle heavy loads. You will have to go back to steel wheels with truck tires. You can add air shocks or helper springs to the back. You can't really increase the stock load rating, because things like the axles and transmission, etc. all tie into it.How to make my dodge ram 1500 rear suspension able to handle a heavy trailer?
The maximum tongue weight rating for the hitch is 500 pounds. If you beef up the suspension, you will need to get a load distributing hitch to be able to handle the larger trailer.
first off you have to go with the stock steel rims you can get bigger leaf springs and when i say bigger i mean you can get them custom with more leaks and a stronger bow also helpers overloads stronger shocks or maybe a stronger rear end as in a 3200 or 4400 series

i have a 1994 ram 2500 with custom leafs over loads hd shocks and a 4400 rear end
