How can I recover my password on vista?

I changed my password but when i typed my new password its saying incorrect and its not accepting my old. My user account is the admin and I can only get in now as guest. how can I get i recover it. i noticed when i was changing it at first it was saying I couldn't change it so I cancelled it and thought my old password would still be in use but now i cant get in. I have all my personal pictures and files in there and need to get them back.How can I recover my password on vista?
Usually, we can Reset Windows Password in two ways:

The first is to change Windows password with another administrator account,but you say you now only can get in as guest so the first way can be weeded out.

The second is to reset the admin password with the Windows Password Recovery tool that you can download it on another computen which can connect to internet.

u would have to download oph live cd . U can google it and find the link to their website. Then u will download the iso and have to burn the iso onto a cd and boot ur pc from the cd. it will show a screen with all the user accounts and there passwords..
This happened to me before. i just reinstalled windows without formating the harddisk.

this keeps your files and gets around annoying passwords.
that has happened to me too.several times.sorry,but youll have to open a new acount.you cannot change your password simply as you forgot it!
The first thing which you check if you forget login password. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account ';Administrator'; and sets its password to blank. So if you have forget Your user account password then try this:

Start system and when you See Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys Twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type ';Administrator'; (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.

Now you can reset your account password from ';Control Panel -%26gt; User Accounts';.

Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.
