Is my lip infected and how to get rid of it?

I have a lip stud, ive had it since summer 09. i recently changed it to a black plastic labret but when i couldnt get it out of my lip i was twisting it, bending it, and pulling it to get it out, so it was sore for a while. now i have my old lip ring in, but the inside of my lip has like white skin on one side of it and it hurts and burns. is this an infection or because of when i was messing with the black labret/ if its an infection, how can iget rid of it?Is my lip infected and how to get rid of it?
Yes, if it is that irritated, than it is infected. I would suggest your doctor, and have them prescribe you a cream for it, or if you don't want to do that, go to your local pharmasist and ask them what would be best for it.

For the meanwhile, try to keep away from touching it and disinfect it with alcohol. If you can, take the ring out and let your lip rest.
