the name that appears on the CID display is not sent from your phone... the name that appears on the CID is obtained from your telephone number from a CNAM database that the person that you are calling to telephone company uses...
you can call metro PCS and have them change the name that appears on the CNAM database that they use, but if you call someone with a different carrier the updated information may not be available right away... (example if you called someone on verizon it might not appear right away with the updated information if they use a different CNAM provider)
