Your friend sounds like she is brainwashed by the constant depiction of Israel as the ';heavy'; in the European media. Not much you can do to change her mind, except let her know that there are two sides to this story, not just what she is being spoon-fed by the press.
At that age, people are usually quite strident and opinionated in their views.
Perhaps you and your family could expose her to some differing viewpoints?
Remind her that Israel is a democracy where even the Arab residents are represented in the government, there is freedom of speech and of the press, women's rights and gay rights are protected, (as well as the rights of others, like religious nuts and insurrectionists!), and maybe present here with some books that depict the history fairly and honestly.
