How do you get someone to stop calling you with the wrong number?

The person who used have my phone number changed his and didn't notify everyone. Almost everyday someone calls me asking if I want to eliminate my debt or some other form of that. It gets really annoying and the calls just keep coming. My voice mail says my name and everyone continues to leave a message and fill up my in box.How do you get someone to stop calling you with the wrong number?

I would contact the phone company to request a new number.
These are telemarketers. Most are computer generated calls. Contact your service provider and ask if there is a do not call list you can get on. Hope this helps
I really hate that! You can do one of two things. You can have your phone company change your number, ask them to try to give you a new number that hasn't been used or has been out of circulation for at least 2 years. They should do this for free.



Or start taking names of these companies, ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them that they need to take this number off their list as a contact for the person. Tell them this is your new phone and if they call again you're going to report them for harassment which is a federal offense, you have both persons names and company that they work for you will make formal complaint. This usually works.
Letting calls ring through to your voicemail, as seems to be the habit today, does nothing to stop people from calling you even though they're looking for someone else. They're just calling a number.

YOU have to answer the call and tell them they have the wrong number.





At least that's how phones have always worked, anyway.
