For some reason, this question was deleted. I though Yahoo Answers was for when you need help. Well, I need help, and I would appreciate if i could get it
I have five questions that need answering:
1. What happens when acids come into contact with active metals?
2. What happens when acids come into contact with carbonate compounds?
3. How are acid-base indicators used to distinguish between an acid and a base? (An acid-base indicator is a substance that indicates the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a solution based on the color changes).
4. How is litmus paper used to distinguish between an acid and a base?
5. How does the pH change when you start with a fixed amount of strong acid and add a strong base to it one drop at a time? How does the pH change when you start with a fixed amount of a strong base and add a strong acid to it one drop at a time?
Please answer as many of these questions as you can! Thank you!!!Can anyone help me with Chemistry?
1. The metals react to form metal salts and hydrogen gas is produced
2. Salts, water and Carbon dioxide is produced
3. Those are halochromic compounds which enable PH changes to be determined visually
4. Acids turn litmus paper red, Alkalis turn litmus paper blue
5. For acid%26gt;base: Low pH typical of strong acid, and ends at high pH typical of strong base.cThere is a large rapid change in pH near the equivalence point (pH=7).
For the other way round its just the opposite PH starter and end
hope this helpsCan anyone help me with Chemistry?
there is a chemistry section
ask it there
Can't help you...plus you are in the Ramadan section, which has nothing to do with chemistry...you probably should repost in the chemistry or homework help! This is not a holiday or religion question...in fact it is pretty far removed from the topic.
That may be why your question was deleted. It is way off topic.
